Starshine's re-entry and burnup are now expected to happen on February 18, 2000! For the latest reentry predictions, check Alan Pickup's Starshine Reentry Prediction Page and Harro Zimmer's Starshine Decay Report frequently. Those sites will be updated several times per day. Get ready to go out and watch for the flaming fireball and take a picture of it, if it happens to be visible from your location. We have put together a contest for the best picture. Rules for the contest can be found here. The judges of the pictures will be Mr. Paul Maley, an internationally known amateur astronomer from Houston, TX, Dr. Geoff Andersen, an optical research physicist from Colorado Springs, CO and Mr. George Varros, another well-known amateur astronomer from Mount Airy, MD.
